As a child, Cary romped around like a wild man through the many acres of land behind his parents' home, and swam in his family's backyard lake. His cousins were his best friends and together they built the best forts in town. Cary has been an adventurer and an artist since he was a toddler. In his early years Cary created dozens of clay animations. Since then his favorite media have become drawing and painting. While in high school, he created a 33 foot tall trebuchet that threw 10-lb rocks over 500 ft!
Cary plays or dabbles in drums, viola, piano, ukulele, guitar, and cello. And he whistles...incessantly. Gray attended the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore where he graduated Cum Laude with a BFA in Interdisciplinary Sculpture in 2011. Cary Gray has never followed the beaten path. While this once looked something like rebellion or theatrics...it has now progressed into something positive.
Since 2013, Cary has ridden his unicyle more than 15,000 miles while living and working in dozens of locales. His current projects are: to publish a successful book — “the Naked Unicyclist”; to publish a successful children's book — “Luno!”; to return to South America and finish his unicycle trek to the southernmost point; to get on the Ellen show; to give a TED talk; to shake Richard Branson's hand. His future goals are: to write at least one book that is considered a “cult classic”; to meet the/a future president; to open a food truck; to found an art/adventure camp; to trek across/around every continent; and to meet his future partner of who wants to have their two children while pedaling/paddling the world together.
"Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them - that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like." Lao Tzu
